Green Instruments and Danfoss IXA Develop Breakthrough Emissions Sensor10-11-2010With support from the Danish Maritime Fund, Danfoss IXA and Green Instruments are now taking the first steps towards creating an emissions sensor which will measure environmentally-impacting gases at source in ship chimneys. Danfoss IXA and Green Instruments’ cooperation is literally riding the waves of the increasing demand for emissions measuring equipment for the maritime sector. With the support of the Danish Maritime Fund, it will be possible to implement Danfoss IXA’s breakthrough sensor technology in a platform from Green Instruments. By combining the platform and new measuring technology, the two entrepreneurial companies have an extremely robust product, which will measure the emission of CO2 and nitrous gases from ships throughout the world. Sparkling CooperationWith different backgrounds as technology developer and technology integrator respectively, the sensor from Danfoss IXA and Green Instruments builds on a sparkling cooperation, driven by a shared ambition to enter the maritime sector. An Important Step for DenmarkDenmark already has a dominant position within the shipping industry and the ambition for the project is to create a dominant position within emissions measurement.
